Gosh this really is like going straight back into it. I’m already creating whole posts of caveats and apologies.

THE CAVEAT SECTION

• As noted on the about page, this blog is held together with love and masking tape at the moment.
  Archives: you might be able to see them, you might not. This blog was hacked, squatted, spam-filled and all sorts. For my fortieth birthday, My Beloved (for he is the best of all men), scraped the posts that he could from the Wayback Machine (blessings upon its name), and put them back in the right order with the right dates.
  They were missing
  a) Most if not all punctuation and formatting
  b) The experienced eye and judgement of someone who has been on the internet for the last ten years when this blog hasn’t, and, in retrospect, might not have had some of the posts public that were deemed fine to be public back then.
  So! I am working my way through them and will add back the ones that I like. So the archives will grow backward, as well as forward.
• This is not a newsletter. Maybe it is a newsletter? Could be like a newsletter, I’m not sure, I don’t really read newsletters, as I still don’t like email much (working at Slack will do that for you). Maybe if you want it to be a newsletter I could set it up as such, but it’s not really ABOUT anything, and I sense they usually are. It’s about noticing, and curiosity and words and writing for the sake of writing. I totally get that might not be up to snuff nowadays. But, that is what it is.
•  I don’t really remember how to do this. How to write as me. What people want to read and don’t, what is self-indulgent and isn’t. It’s something, though, that I actually have to do for me, so this is a learning process. And it’s taken an awfully long time to get here, so bear with me.
• I do also need to find a way to do writing about more-directly-worky stuff, and I might sometimes do that here, or I may add a different place, and tell you where that is once I know. So if you are here because you want to know about Voice and Tone things, this may not be what you’re looking for.

THE APOLOGY SECTION

• My computer is filled with notes and docs and fragments of writings called “things I would blog about if I still had a blog”, and many scrawled notes in notebooks with the beginnings of posts and the same… and I am going to be working my way through them. I realise that doesn’t sound like an apology, but trust me, that’s because you haven’t looked through them. I have.
